ARA----------------------The Election Commission of India has announced the Bihar Assembly elections. Elections in Bihar will be held in two phases. Elections for all seven assembly constituencies in Bhojpur district will be held in the first phase on November 6th. With this, candidates have become active in the assembly elections. All eyes are on the Shahpur constituency, where Rahul Tiwari (RJD), son of former minister Shivanand Tiwari, has been MLA for two consecutive terms. Both times, he faced the Ojha family.

In the 2015 election, Visheshwar Ojha (BJP) was the closest candidate. In the following election, his wife Shobha Devi (Independent) came in second, with the BJP finishing third. It's worth noting that Shivanand Tiwari, the father of current MLA Rahul Tiwari, was defeated by the BJP's Munni Devi in the November 2005 elections. For the first time, the BJP's lotus flower bloomed here through the Ojha family. In the 2010 election, Munni Devi of the BJP repeated her success.

No party has yet announced its candidate. Only after the announcement will it be clear who will contest the elections. However, this time too, the contest is considered to be between these two parties. Now, it will be interesting to see whether Rahul Tiwari can score a hat-trick here. Both development and caste equations will play a major role in Shahpur.

Regarding the Shahpur assembly constituency, RJD's Rahul Tiwari has won this seat twice in a row. Despite the current displeasure of erosion victims and the general public, he is seeking a third victory this time. Meanwhile, Hira Ojha of the RJD has also staked his claim. After winning two consecutive elections since 2005, the BJP has faced defeat twice. This time, Rakesh Ojha, son of the late Visheshwar Ojha, seems poised to make a comeback by working tirelessly.

The political landscape of the Shahpur assembly constituency has changed with time. In 1990, Dharampal Singh made history by winning the election, shattering the caste equation. From 1990 to 2005, the Janata Party (JP), Janata Dal, and RJD held power respectively. This was a time of significant change in the region's politics. As the political tide shifted, the BJP's lotus bloomed for the first time in the November 2005 elections. In the 2010 elections, BJP's Munni Devi repeated her success. The RJD has been in power here for the past two elections.

Dissatisfaction with the MLA: A permanent solution to flooding, erosion, and fire hazards in the Diara region has yet to be found. Despite promises, roads have not been built in Dhamwal and Pipra villages. Currently, the condition of the road leading to Banahi station has caused significant dissatisfaction among the people with RJD MLA Rahul Tiwari.
