PATNA------------------------Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has taken a strong stance on the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar and the alleged inaction of the Election Commission. Addressing the media, he leveled serious allegations against the Election Commission, asking, "Is the Election Commission dead?" Yadav also accused the ruling party of protecting criminals and claimed that the people of Bihar will oust the BJP and NDA from power in the upcoming elections.
Referring to the Mokama incident in his press conference, Tejashwi Yadav said that a man against whom a murder case has been registered openly walks past the police station and campaigns. He alleged that such criminals are roaming around in convoys of 40 vehicles carrying guns and ammunition, yet no action is being taken against them. Yadav said, "Not a single person who was murdered during the election campaign has been prosecuted." He directly blamed the Election Commission for this situation.
Yadav raised serious questions about the role of the Election Commission, asking, "Where is the Election Commission? Is the Election Commission dead?" He alleged that the Election Commission's law applies only to opposition parties, while there is no law for those in power. "Is the Election Commission's law only for the opposition? There is no law for those in power. Whether they commit murder or anything else, they extort money." He also claimed that ten thousand rupees are being openly distributed and bribes are being given during elections, but the Election Commission is not taking any cognizance of it.
The RJD leader categorically stated that criminals in Bihar have become unbridled and those in power are providing protection. This has become clear. He emphasized that despite serious crimes like murder, no arrests have been made, and he blamed the Election Commission's inaction for this.
Tejashwi Yadav also expressed deep concern about the safety of opposition party leaders. He said, "People are being shot at, they are being murdered." Somewhere, ASIs are being murdered. Opposition party leaders are being assassinated. The Election Commission is missing. Tejashwi Yadav said that the people of Bihar are watching the current situation and will work to oust the BJP and NDA from power in the upcoming elections.
