PATNA (RNI) Teachers are once again agitating in Bihar. Thousands of teachers, angered by the neglect and broken promises in the transfer process, have launched a protest against the Education Department. They allege that the transfer process has been deliberately delayed. 24,600 transferred teachers are still awaiting school allocation, while approximately 17,000 teachers have been denied transfers. They have not received the districts they were given, citing the department's negligence.
Teachers expressed their anguish, stating that their right to serve in their home districts has been taken away. Many teachers have been serving away from their families for years and are still unable to return home. The department has also shelved clear instructions from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. BRBAS President Anees Singh and Vice President PS Thakur said that this is not only a betrayal of teachers, but also an injustice to their families and society.
At a meeting in Patna on Sunday, teachers decided to complete all pending transfers by October 4th. Otherwise, they would surround the Education Minister on October 5th. It is worth noting that the Election Commission has directed that the transfer process be completed by October 6th.
