PATNA----------------------The Safe Saturday campaign running under the Chief Minister School Safety Program run by Bihar State Disaster Management Authority has once again proved its importance and effectiveness at the state level. In this sequence, today in the Authority Auditorium, Patna, Aneesh Kumar, a fifth class student of Primary School, Mandal Tola, Tulsipur, Kharik of Bhagalpur district was honored for his heroic act.

It is known that on August 2, 2025, while returning home from school, Aneesh Kumar showed extraordinary courage and quick decision making ability and saved two girl students of class I from drowning in deep water. When both the girls got trapped among the water hyacinth in a pit filled near the school due to heavy rain, Aneesh, without wasting any time, got into the water and took them out safely and averted a major accident.

It is a happy coincidence that on the day of the incident, a mock drill was organized in the school on the topic "Danger from Flood and Prevention from Drowning" under the 'Safe Saturday' program. Practical training of rescue techniques and emergency response by Sumona Rinku Ghosh, Head Teacher of the school and Master Trainer of Disaster Management, played a decisive role in this rescue operation.

In this training series, as State Level Master Trainers Training, Dr. Mamta Sharma, Teacher, +2 High School, Aanti, Nawada has done excellent work as a Master Trainer, as a result of which the trained teachers are performing better in their respective schools. This is a concrete step towards realizing the dream of "Safe Bihar".

In the honour ceremony, in the dignified presence of Vice President of the Authority Dr. Udaykant, Authority members P.N. Rai, Kaushal Kishore Mishra, Narendra Kumar Singh, Prakash Kumar encouraged Anish Kumar by giving him a certificate, a cheque of Rs. 2100, school bag and stationery material.
