ARA-----------------------Political activity is rife regarding the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, but a crack appears to be forming within the Grand Alliance. Hemant Soren's party, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, has left the Grand Alliance and made a major announcement.
The JMM, or Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, has announced its intention to contest six seats in Bihar. The party has clarified that it will field candidates in all six Bihar Assembly seats. Supriyo Bhattacharya, Central General Secretary of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, stated that despite repeated assurances, the RJD has betrayed them.
He also announced that JMM candidates will contest in six Bihar seats: Chakai, Dhamdha, Katoria, Manihari, Jamui, and Pirpainti. Katoria and Manihari are ST reserved seats. Supriyo Bhattacharya also stated that candidates may contest 10 seats in the coming days. Taking aim at Lalu Prasad's RJD, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the JMM has always respected the RJD. In the 2019 assembly elections, the RJD won seven seats. Satyanand Bhokta, the only winning candidate, was appointed cabinet minister for five years. Meanwhile, in the 2024 elections, the RJD was given six seats, winning four. Chief Minister Hemant Soren personally showed him considerable respect.
