SHAHPUR PHC:VICTIM OF NEGLIGENCE

ARA-----------------------------The new building of the Primary Health Center (PHC) located in Ward No. 11 of Shahpur Nagar Panchayat under Bhojpur district has been completed years ago, but even today it is locked. This situation clearly shows the gross negligence of the system of good governance, due to which this important health center has fallen prey.

Incomplete construction process: The foundation stone of the building was laid on 5 December 2006 by the then MLA Munni Devi and it was constructed from the District Health Scheme fund. Even after so many years, if the building is ready, then why has it not been started, this is a big question. Is the construction work not completely finished even after 18 years or is there any other technical obstacle?

A ready building being locked for such a long time shows the apathy of the local administration, health department and the concerned officials. They have no concern for the health needs of the public.

There is a clear lack of proper monitoring in the entire process from construction to operation. If it had been reviewed from time to time, this situation would not have arisen.

No officer or department has been held accountable for this entire delay, due to which this problem remains as it is.

Since this hospital is located on the NH 84 main road right in front of Shahpur police station, it could have played an important role in accidents and emergency situations, but Shahpur residents are “waiting for the lock to open for years and are now cursing the system of good governance”.
