SASARAM-------------------------The government of good governance has been in power in Bihar for more than two decades. Corruption, which has become more dangerous than cancer under the rule of Nitish Kumar, the head of the government that promises development, cannot be ignored. No work in the administrative department is being completed without bribery. There is no office where brokers do not have the upper hand, and the recommendations of brokers matter everywhere. Be it officers or employees, everyone is increasingly relying on extraneous earnings. However, some officers and employees are completely loyal and honest to their duties and responsibilities. On Tuesday, a team from Patna, led by DSP Narendra Kumar of the Vigilance Investigation Bureau, arrested Vinod Kumar Thakur, posted as the attendant to the Sub-Divisional Officer in the Sub-Divisional Office, on the complaint of complainant Rakesh Thakur, on charges of demanding a bribe of 1.60 lakh rupees. He was taken to the local police station and interrogated for hours. When the Vigilance Investigation Bureau team, after investigating, determined that the allegations of demanding or accepting a bribe were not true, and that both the complainant and the accused were residents of the same village and had a long-standing land dispute between them, they released him late in the evening. The Vigilance Investigation Bureau, which had boasted of taking action in this case, suffered a major setback, and the proverb "digging a mountain to find a mouse" appeared to be true. The matter has become a topic of much public debate, and people are raising various questions about the Vigilance Investigation Bureau's working style. If sources are to be believed, the land dispute, which involved The Vigilance DSP had told the media about the bribe demand in a settlement transaction. It is now being reported that the case had been executed by the Land Reforms Sub-Divisional Magistrate's court months ago. In such a situation, people find it difficult to accept the demand for bribe in a executed case. However, the news of the Vigilance Investigation Bureau team seizing the exonerated attendant, Vinod Kumar Thakur, with 160,000 rupees spread like wildfire and rapidly went viral on social media. Meanwhile, the attendant, who was freed after investigation by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau team, said that truth can be troubled but not defeated. The conspirators' plans were thwarted and they failed to achieve their objective, and they fell flat on their face. He said that an attempt was made to trample his dignity. He has faith in the court and will file a defamation suit in the court to seek justice.
