BHABHUA----------------------------Sub-Divisional Officer Anirudh Kumar Pandey conducted a surprise inspection at the Mohaniya Sub-Divisional Hospital today. During the inspection, several staff members, including doctors, were found absent from duty, while the sanitation conditions were also found to be extremely poor.
According to information received, complaints of negligence and mismanagement had been received at the Sub-Divisional Hospital for a long time. Taking these complaints seriously, Sub-Divisional Officer Anirudh Kumar Pandey arrived at the hospital unexpectedly on Wednesday.
As soon as the inspection began, the hospital staff were shocked. As soon as the SDO checked the attendance register, he saw the names of several doctors, but they were not on duty.
Most shockingly, the Sub-Divisional Hospital's Deputy Superintendent was also found absent from duty.
Healthcare workers deployed in several wards were also absent on time, prompting the SDO to express his displeasure and seek an explanation from the concerned officials.
Negligence in Cleanliness Exposed
During the inspection, the hospital's sanitation conditions were found to be extremely poor. Garbage was not being disposed of properly, and the toilets were found to be in poor condition.
The SDO immediately directed the hospital management to strictly enforce cleanliness. During the inspection, several patients and their relatives expressed their complaints to the SDO: Doctors not being available on time, Shortage of medicines, Staff laxity in several departments. The SDO listened to all complaints seriously and assured appropriate action. After the surprise inspection, SDO Anirudh Kumar Pandey stated, "Improvement in discipline and punctuality at the hospital is essential. Reports are being prepared against absent doctors. Instructions have been given to give top priority to cleanliness and patient services." This surprise inspection at the hospital has once again exposed the weaknesses in the health system.
It remains to be seen how long it will take for the hospital's system to improve after administrative action. Currently, the hospital administration is preparing a report on the matter and several doctors have been summoned.
