ROADS CLOSED DUE TO FLOOD WATER, PADDY CROP AND SEEDLINGS DESTROYED

ARA--------------------------Ganga river is continuously rising in Barhara block of Bhojpur district for the last 8 days. Due to continuous water rise, 75% of the standing crops in 19 out of 22 panchayats of the block have been damaged. Flood water has entered the wastelands of more than 6 dozen villages. Due to this water rise, traffic has been closed on Keshopur Saraiya Path, Neknamtola access path, Bakhorapur Lohar Path, Ghaziapur, Gyanpur, Nathmalpur Path, Farhada-Durgtola Path, Durgatola-Ghaziapur Path, Milki access path and Bhawan Tola of Khawaspur Panchayat, among others, due to waterlogging.

Sinha Ara and Keshopur Ara Path are currently operational to reach the district headquarters from the block. In view of this, the block administration has allotted two boats for Neknamtola village. While boats are being demanded for other panchayats. Regarding this, the Panchayat representatives, public representatives are busy giving instructions to the block headquarters. The block administration is preparing to distribute polythene sheets in view of the flood.

SDO of Water Control Department Deepak Kumar said that due to the rain in Uttarakhand, the water level of the Ganga river is expected to increase for two days. The Ganga river is flowing 01.08 meters above the danger mark in Barhara.
