RECOGNITION OF 15 POLITICAL PARTIES MAY BE CANCELLED

PATNA-------------------------The Election Commission (EC) in Bihar has started preparing for major action against 15 unrecognized political parties of the state. A decision can be taken to cancel the recognition of these parties for not participating in any elections for the last several years. The Election Commission has issued a show cause notice to these parties and sought a reply, and if a satisfactory answer is not received, they can be removed from the party list.

Earlier, the Commission had already canceled the recognition of 17 other parties, which were not active in the election process. Under the new action, these 15 parties will have to submit a reply in their defense within 15 days. A senior Election Commission official said that this step has been taken to ensure the activism of political parties and make the election system transparent.

According to the report, these parties have neither participated in the assembly elections nor the Lok Sabha elections, due to which their activities are under suspicion. Amid the increasing participation in political activities in Bihar, this move can bring new equations in the state politics. The affected parties will now have to clarify their position, otherwise the risk of their recognition being revoked has increased.

According to sources associated with this action, the Election Commission's aim is not only to remove inactive parties, but to encourage parties that play an active role in strengthening democracy. Political analysts of Bihar believe that this move will boost the credibility and accountability of political parties in the state.
