PATNA------------------------Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a press conference in Araria on the eighth day of the Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar, made serious allegations against the Election Commission and the BJP. Calling it institutional vote theft, he said that 65 lakh people's names were deleted from the voter list in Bihar, but the BJP did not complain in this regard. Rahul Gandhi alleged that the reason for this is the partnership between the Election Commission and the BJP.

Rahul Gandhi's special style was seen during the yatra. He was riding a bullet bike, while Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram was sitting on the back seat. Local people were walking behind him, carrying flags of Congress, RJD and India Alliance and raising slogans. Rahul Gandhi said that the Voter Rights Yatra is getting tremendous public support throughout Bihar.

He rejected the claims of names being deleted from the voter list through Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and said that there are people in Bihar who are alive, but their votes were deleted by calling them 'dead'. He said that even people who had cast their votes in the last five-six elections have been removed from the voter list.

Rahul Gandhi said that the issue of vote theft has deeply penetrated the public. During the yatra, even small children came to him and shouted slogans of “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod”. He accused the Election Commission that this institution never takes action on the activities of BJP leaders, while continuously pressurizing them.

Rahul Gandhi also reiterated his commitment to work in the interest of the farmers of Bihar if the India Alliance government is formed. He stressed that there is strong coordination in the alliance and its wonderful results will be seen in the upcoming elections.
