ARA------------------------------The last stop of the much talked about 'Voter Rights Yatra' in Bihar was seen in Ara, the land of Bhojpur. When former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav reached Ara on Saturday, lakhs of people thronged the streets. Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav also joined the yatra.

This 16-day long yatra started from Saran on Saturday and reached Ara, the headquarters of Bhojpur district. All along the way, Mahagathbandhan workers and common people gave a grand welcome to Rahul and Tejashwi with flowers and garlands. As soon as the yatra entered Ara, passing through Babura Bridge of Barhara Assembly constituency to Koilwar and Kulhadiya, the enthusiasm of the people reached its peak.

A touching scene was seen during the yatra. Rahul Gandhi took a small child in his lap and made him sit on the car. On seeing this scene, the crowd echoed with applause. This picture has become a topic of discussion on social media as well.

While addressing the gathering, Tejashwi Yadav said “This is Bihar, people here are not afraid of anyone. The people of Bihar have the strength to take out stones from the mine and rub them with lime. This time the people will teach the BJP a lesson.”

At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav attacked the BJP government and said “This fight is to save democracy. This time the BJP has to be uprooted from Bihar and a new politics has to be started.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the workers in his own style and raised the slogan “Vote chod, Gaddi chhod… this time RSS and BJP's Modi government has to be uprooted.”

This yatra turned into a huge public meeting at Veer Kunwar Singh Stadium, Ara. The presence of Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav on the stage made the meeting historic. The workers claimed that there is frustration in the BJP and NDA camp after seeing the crowd gathering in the yatra.

“The crowd that is gathering in the Voter Rights Yatra is an indication that the people of the state want change.” “We want to see Tejashwi Yadav as the Chief Minister next time as a youth leader.”

People from different areas of Bhojpur district reached Ara with banners, flags and posters since morning for the yatra. A large participation of women and youth was seen. The atmosphere of the yatra was like a festival.
