ARA-------------------------Pandit Ramprakash Mishra was honoured with the title of Khalifa-e-Maushiki. This honour was not given by any institution but by the audience in the assembly in unison. The thunderous applause and the voices of cheers made the assembly lay itself down like a flower at the feet of Pandit Ramprakash Mishra. Someone said that he got vitamins for a month from such high level music and someone even gave him the title of Khalifa. Actually, Pandit Ramprakash Mishra had come specially to perform in the sixth Nisha cum closing session of the six-day 112th Shri Krishna Janmotsav Music Festival organised at Anand Kand Bhagwan's Thakurbari in Mahajan Toli, Ara. Pandit ji mesmerised the audience with his rendition of Vilambit Khayal, Chota Khayal, Drut Khayal, Tarana, Thumri and Bhajan in Raga Megh. People were mesmerised on seeing the magic of fingers on the harmonium. Here the voices coming out of Pandit ji's mouth covered it as if Lord Narayana himself was present to listen to the music. Hence every audience member felt bliss by immersing themselves in the music. The accompaniment of the famous artist Pappu Maharaj on the tabla made the performance stand out like a star in the musical sky. Here the young dancer Kumari Roopa gave a glimpse of Krishna's artistic personality through the rhythmic taal. This is the only such event in Ara where the best audience graces the event. It can be guessed from the fact that after listening to the vilambit khayal, madhya laya, drut laya ka khayal tarana in Raga Megh for almost an hour, some of the people present in the audience gallery requested to listen to their favourite raaga including Jyajwanti and some Jhinjhoti. Seeing this impatience of the people, Pandit ji also presented many raagas. Overall, this program purified the ears in Ara again with an excellent musical resonance. Now there is a belief that next year this event will definitely come with new experiences.
