BHABHUA------------------------The death of a prisoner in Bhabhua Mandal Jail has stirred a hornet’s nest in Kaimur district, with questions swirling over whether it was suicide or murder, prompting calls for a thorough probe. The deceased, Nakshe Ali from Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh, was incarcerated six months ago for possessing a large quantity of cough syrup. Jail authorities found him hanging in his cell and rushed him to Bhabhua Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Bhabhua DSP Shiv Shankar Kumar said, “A prisoner has died in Bhabhua Mandal Jail. A postmortem will reveal the cause of death.” The incident has raised eyebrows, with allegations of foul play. Mantu Pandey, General Secretary of the Bhabhua Civil Court District Advocates’ Association, demanded an investigation, stating, “The prisoner’s death is a matter of serious concern. The jail has 12 wards, and inmates are routinely harassed and extorted by jail staff. If it was suicide, where did the rope come from? If it was murder, who’s responsible? A detailed probe is needed to uncover the truth behind this death.” The district administration is under pressure as the controversy deepens, with the postmortem report expected to shed light on the mysterious circumstances.
