POSCO COURT SENTENCED THE CRIMINALS TO THREE YEARS IMPRISONMENT

BHABHUA------------------------In one case, the criminals were sentenced to three years of imprisonment and a fine of 80 thousand rupees by the POCSO court special judge, and in the second case, they were sentenced to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 20 thousand rupees.

In the court of Special Judge cum ADJ-6 Pramod Kumar Pandey of the Civil Court District POCSO Court, the criminals were found guilty of injuring the minor victim by putting her in boiling oil when she protested against molestation. All the three accused were sentenced to three years of imprisonment and a fine of 80 thousand rupees. According to the information received, the incident took place in Anantpura village under Mohaniya police station area on 09.05.2018 at 10:30 pm, where the three criminals climbed on the stage during the jaimala ceremony when the wedding procession arrived and started molesting the victim. When the victim and her family objected, they threw her in the boiling oil of Puri being fried in a pan nearby with the intention of killing her, due to which 75% of the left side of the victim's body was burnt. The victim's father lodged a complaint in Mohaniya police station against the three accused Ajit Singh alias Ajit Kumar Singh, age 20 years, father late Ajay Singh, Shyam Narayan Singh, age 58 years, father late Ram Kamal Singh, both of village- Anantpura, police station- Mohaniya, Subodh alias Shivbodh Singh, age 25 years, father late Balram Singh, village- Ruppur, police station- Bhabua, district- Kaimur, after considering the speed trial, the above three accused were sentenced to three years of imprisonment and a fine of 80 thousand rupees.

In the same case of rape of a minor, the culprit was sentenced to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 20000 rupees.

The incident took place in Mohaniya police station area of Kaimur district. The 16-year-old victim was alone in the house with her younger siblings, who were sleeping on the roof. The victim was alone in the room downstairs, her mother and father had gone out. The accused committed the incident on 6 July 2019 at 12:00 midnight. The culprit entered the room by jumping over the wall of the victim's courtyard and raped the victim. When the younger brother and sister woke up and raised an alarm, the accused fled. Then the victim lodged a primary complaint in this case. The prosecution had named a total of 8 witnesses. On the basis of the witnesses, Omkar Pandey alias Golu Pandey, the accused son of late Rameshwar Pandey, a resident of Pandey Pipra of Mohaniya police station in Kaimur district, was sentenced to 15 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 for raping a Dalit teenager and under the POCSO Act. Special Public Prosecutor of POCSO Act, Shashi Bhushan Pandey, presented the government's side in this case. He said that such incidents tarnish the society and the nation. The family expressed satisfaction on getting justice.
