POLITICAL PARTIES ARE FORMED IN THE NAME OF PUBLIC BUT OFTEN GET DISPTANCED FROM THEM

The biggest weakness of Indian politics is that parties formed in the name of the public often get distanced from the public. When candidates are decided, the basis of the ticket is not years of service in the party organization or connection with the public, but money, influence and caste equations. Because of this, the same faces come back again and again whose real life is not like that of ordinary people. They neither understand the pain and suffering of the public nor feel connected to it.

ARA------------------------The biggest weakness of Indian politics is that parties formed in the name of the public often get distanced from the public. When candidates are decided, the basis of the ticket is not years of service in the party organization or connection with the public, but money, influence and caste equations. Because of this, the same faces come back again and again whose real life is not like that of ordinary people. They neither understand the pain and suffering of the public nor feel connected to it.

If the opposition parties show the courage to give the ticket not to a businessman, contractor or a highly influential person, but to a very ordinary person, then this experiment can bring new air in politics. An ordinary person does not only mean being poor, but one who knows the hardships of everyday life. He may have stood in the line for ration, faced the worry of paying children's fees, visited hospitals. If such people reach Parliament and Vidhan Sabhas, then they will directly take the experience and anger of the public there, which today's leaders try to cover up only with statistics and speeches.

History is a witness that whenever ordinary people have come forward to lead, there has been a stir in the society. From labour movements to farmers' struggles, ordinary people have brought about big changes. They know that power does not change only through speeches, but by bringing out the realities of life. This is the reason that if political parties field such candidates, the public will see a reflection of itself in them and a new energy will be generated in the voting.

This strategy is even more important for the opposition because the government cannot be fought with mere slogans or alliances. To challenge it, the real voice from within the society will have to be brought forward. If the opposition implements this, then politics will not be just an exercise to get the chair, but will become a tool to bring the problems of the public to the center.

The real question is whether the parties will be so courageous that they will push money and caste equations behind in the race for tickets and choose a truly ordinary person? If they can do this, the public will grab them with open arms and this will not only open the way for political victory for them, but will also bring politics back to the lost ground of the public.
