POLICE RECOVERED 10 CATTLE, ONE SM UGGLER ARRESTED

BHABHUA---------------------------Police action against illegal cattle traffickers continues in the district. On Monday, acting on a tip-off, Bhabhua police recovered 10 cattle from a pickup vehicle that were being cruelly transported for smuggling. Police arrested one person at the scene, while the driver managed to escape. According to information, Bhabhua police received a tip-off on October 27th while patrolling the Bhagwanpur-Dadra Road towards Purba Pokhara that cattle were being cruelly transported in a pickup vehicle. Upon receiving the information, police took immediate action and began checking vehicles on the Dadra Road to Purba Pokhara. During the check, police observed a pickup (reg. no. GR26GB4525) approaching and stopped it for a search. Upon searching the vehicle, 10 cattle were found loaded in a very cruel manner. Upon seeing the police, the pickup driver fled the scene, but the police apprehended another person present in the vehicle. The arrested person has been identified as Izhar Qureshi, son of Nawab Qureshi, a resident of Babura in the Bhabua police station area. The police seized the pickup vehicle and recovered all the cattle. In this regard, case number 886/25 has been registered at the Bhabua police station and further action is being taken by filing an FIR against the arrested accused under the Animal Cruelty Act and other relevant sections. The police are conducting raids to arrest the absconding driver. The police are continuously running campaigns to curb incidents of animal smuggling in the area.
