BHABHUA--------------------------Kaimur Police has achieved a major success in the special operation being conducted in view of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Harimohan Shukla, brown sugar, marijuana, illegal weapons, and cash worth approximately 40 lakh rupees were recovered in two separate raids in the Mohania police station area. Three smugglers were arrested in this operation, one of whom has a criminal history.

Kaimur SP Harimohan Shukla informed in a press conference at the Mohania police station on Sunday that the police conducted this operation based on a tip-off. On October 26, 2025, a raid was conducted in Ward No. 12 of the Mohania police station area and 204.6 grams of brown sugar and 101,400 rupees in cash were seized. Two accused, Irfan Ansari alias Bablu Ansari and Umashankar Nishad alias Chhotu Chaudhary alias Arya Chaudhary, were arrested in this case. The international market value of the seized brown sugar is estimated to be approximately ₹40 lakh. Two mobile phones and a motorcycle were also recovered from them. Earlier, on October 25, 2025, another raid was conducted in Usri village, also under the Mohania police station area. During this raid, a man named Jai Prakash Gupta was arrested with 1100 grams of marijuana, a country-made pistol, and 26.610 liters of foreign liquor. The seized marijuana is estimated to be worth approximately ₹55,000.

Police investigation revealed that one of the arrested accused, Umashankar Nishad alias Chhotu Chaudhary, has a prior criminal record. A case has been registered against him under the NDPS Act at the Shivsagar police station. Police are also investigating the criminal history of the other arrested accused. The Kaimur SP stated that a continuous campaign is being launched against illegal liquor, drugs, and criminals in the district to ensure a peaceful and fair conduct of the upcoming assembly elections. This significant success has been achieved as part of this campaign. The police is interrogating the arrested accused to find out other people associated with this network.
