POLICE ARRESTED AN ABSCONDER WITH FIREARMS

ARA-----------------------------An accused absconding in an old criminal case was arrested with two country-made pistols and eight live cartridges. Police from Piro police station have arrested an accused in an old criminal case with two country-made pistols and eight live cartridges. Giving details, the Piro police station chief stated that Jaiprakash Singh, a resident of Saropur village in the area, was absconding in a criminal case registered with the Piro police station in 2001. On Thursday afternoon, a police team arrived at the accused's home in Saropur to arrest him. After surrounding the house and apprehending him, a bag was recovered from him. Two country-made pistols, eight live cartridges of different bores, and one empty cartridge were recovered. Following the recovery of the weapons and cartridges, police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against him under the Arms Act at Piro police station. According to police, the accused is likely involved in the purchase and sale of country-made weapons, and an investigation is underway. After necessary questioning, the accused is being sent to jail.
