Amidst the Bihar Assembly election frenzy, a shocking case of fraud has come to light in Buxar. Photographers from Assam were lured to a private hotel near the railway station in the district's Nagar police station area under the guise of a pre-wedding shoot, but their equipment worth lakhs of rupees went missing. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police have launched an investigation and are searching the hotel.

According to information received, Sushanto Gogoi, a resident of Dongrichak village in Dibrugarh district, Assam, and his partner, Ritesh Pandey, are videographers by profession. An unknown person called them and offered to shoot a wedding in Buxar. The deal was finalized for 30,000 rupees, with the accused sending an advance of 5,000 rupees via Google Pay and providing train tickets from Guwahati to Buxar.

Under this assurance, the two young men traveled to Buxar, where they met the same person at the railway station and were told about a private hotel in the city.

At around 6:30 p.m., the fraudsters lured the two photographers out of the hotel on the pretext of a conversation and dinner. They then entered the room using a second key and fled with goods worth approximately 7.5 lakh rupees, including two cameras, four lenses, batteries, lights, memory cards, ATM cards, PAN cards, Aadhaar cards, wallets, and cash. When the 'client' didn't return after some time, the two became suspicious, and when they returned, they found all the belongings missing.

Upon receiving information about the incident, City Police Station Officer Manoj Kumar Singh arrived at the scene with his team and began an investigation. Police stated that CCTV footage is being examined to identify the culprits. Sadar SDPO Gaurav Pandey stated that a preliminary investigation has confirmed that three young men from Assam were duped under the pretext of a pre-wedding shoot. Police are trying to find out who invited them and who they contacted. He stated that the matter is serious and the culprits will be arrested soon and strict action will be taken.
