PATNA------------------------The murder of prisoner Chandan Mishra on Thursday in the capital's renowned Paras HMRI Hospital has exposed the complex layers of Patna's criminal network. Initial investigation has revealed that this incident is not the result of any personal enmity, but the result of a long-standing feud between two gold smuggling gangs.
According to police sources, the name of notorious criminal Tausif Raja alias Badshah, resident of Gulistan Mohalla of Phulwari Sharif, has prominently emerged behind this brutal murder in the hospital premises. Badshah, who has previously been arrested in a firing case near the Durga temple during Ramzan, is said to be the mastermind of this entire operation.
It is worth noting that Chandan was brought to the hospital on the pretext of treatment, where he was shot in a very planned manner by the already deployed attackers. After the incident, STF and special police squads have launched a raid operation in many nearby areas including Phulwari Sharif, Samanpura, Alamijaan Nagar, Khalilpura.
Police, while examining the CCTV cameras of the hospital premises, found that the five attackers have been identified as active criminals of Phulwari Sharif area. They are associated with old gangs of Samanpura and Khalilpura.
Investigation has also revealed that Chandan Mishra was suspected of betraying his own gang members and informing the police. Sources say that Chandan was under surveillance since the gold robbery incidents in Saguna Mor and Ara. The gang suspected that he had leaked the information about the arrest.
Apart from this, Amit Kumar, a resident of Phulwari Sharif, has also been murdered in the case of embezzling Rs 50 lakh of the gang in the name of opening a VIP Gents Parlour. This incident was carried out near Prakash Talkies Apartment. This series of betrayal within the gang is constantly turning into bloodshed.
From Phulwari Sharif to Danapur, Khagaul, Patna City, Rais Colony and Sabjpura, a situation of conflict has now arisen between these gangs. Police fear that more clashes may be seen in these areas in the coming days. At present, the police have identified several suspects and preparations are on to start a major operation soon.
