ARA-------------------------The massive erosion of the Ganges in Jawainiya village located in Shahpur block of Bhojpur has swallowed half the village, and despite this serious situation, the silence of the government has frustrated the people. It seems as if the people here have been left to die. These things were said by Purnia MP Pappu Yadav after seeing the condition of Jawainiya village.

MP Pappu Yadav, who arrived to take stock of the situation of Jawainiya village, said that today we saw with our own eyes the scene of houses being submerged due to erosion in the strong current of Ganga Maa. We talked to the local MLA, the government's reply to the MLA's questions was that there is no erosion here. Due to which more than half of the village has been submerged in the river. He described the silence of the government as "criminal negligence" and said that it seems as if the people here have been left to die.

Purnia MP Pappu Yadav has expressed deep concern over the destruction caused by the severe erosion of the Ganges river in Jawainiya village in Shahpur block of Bhojpur. He met the victims there and shared their grief and pain. MP Pappu Yadav described this situation as very pathetic and said that we should help immediately in this time of crisis. He told that we distributed financial assistance of Rs 20,000 each, food grains, foil and other essential items among more than two dozen victims. My first duty in this hour of crisis

The MP said that the main reason for the erosion is illegal mining done by sand mafia, due to which the course of the river has changed and the entire village has suffered heavy losses. He has made the following demands from the government: Compensation of ₹5 lakh to erosion victims. Three months' ration. Establishment of relief camps.

The MP said that due to illegal mining, the course of the river has changed, which has led to the destruction of the entire village. This is a serious issue, and we are demanding ₹5 lakh compensation, three months' ration and relief camps for the victims of erosion from the government.

The damage to houses due to erosion as well as the destruction of crops in more than 400 acres is also a matter of concern. If the government remains silent, we will run relief camps for three months ourselves and lead a mass movement if needed. This is not a fight of caste or politics, but a fight of humanity. We will appeal to the opposition to come out on the streets, so that this area can be saved and the people here get justice.

During the inspection, a house fell into the Ganges in front of Pappu Yadav. The MP and his companions, as well as many media personnel, narrowly escaped when the house collapsed. Seeing this incident with his own eyes, he strongly attacked the Bihar government and said that the situation here is so worrying. Shame on you, Bihar government!

Jawainia village of Ara Bhojpur is merging into Gangaji, and the government is sleeping after selling the horse. Are these people not citizens of this country? Do these families who are getting ruined in the disaster have no right on the resources of the government? This is not an accident, but criminal negligence of government indifference. If the eyes do not open even now, history will not forgive!

He said that the people “busy in abusing” in the House should feel the pain of the people of Bhojpur, who have lost their homes due to the erosion of the river Ganga. Considering the seriousness of the situation, special relief work should be started immediately. The victims should get proper compensation and they should be provided rehabilitation facilities.
