PATNA-------------------------When getting a train ticket becomes like a dream during the festive season, then Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has given a big relief to migrant Biharis. On the occasion of Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath festival, festive bus service is going to start from 12 cities of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, UP and Bengal to 6 big cities of Bihar.

BSRTC has announced that online booking of bus tickets will start from September 1, which can be purchased on the official website of the corporation https://bsrtc.bihar.gov.in. This bus service will run from 20 September to 30 November.

The festive bus service will start from cities like Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Ambala, Panipat, Lucknow, Kaushambi, Gorakhpur, Siliguri and Kolkata. These buses will be operated directly for six major cities of Bihar, Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Purnia.

Navratri is starting from 22 September, Dussehra is on 2 October, Diwali is on 20 October and Chhath Arghya is on 28 October. Every year lakhs of migrants return to Bihar on these festivals. It becomes almost impossible to get a ticket in the train. Those who have tickets, they also have to travel in very difficult conditions. In such a situation, BSRTC's AC and deluxe buses can help in reducing the pressure of the crowd.

The corporation says that buses will be run every day on these routes for two and a quarter months. Despite this, the number of migrants is so large that this service will provide only partial relief. The Transport Department has started promoting this scheme on a large scale and information is being conveyed to the people by giving full page advertisements in newspapers.

For the Bihar government, this is not just a transport facility, but also a question of trust of migrant Biharis. “Returning to Bihar” is the priority of every Bihari on festivals like Dussehra-Diwali-Chhath. In such a situation, by starting the bus service, the government has given the message that the needs of the migrants will not be ignored.

During the festive season, when trains are jam packed and it becomes impossible to get a ticket, then this initiative of BSRTC is a sigh of relief for migrant Biharis. However, the number of migrants is so huge that this service will not be able to reach everyone. Still, this bus service running from 20 September to 30 November will definitely make the struggle to return to Bihar a little easier.
