BHABHUA-------------------------A bus and a truck collided violently late Monday night near the Mahuaria overbridge in the Durgawati police station area. The bus conductor, Mahesh Verma (30), died in the accident, while 10 others were seriously injured. The bus was carrying 38 people, who were traveling from Madhya Pradesh via Varanasi to Gaya, Bihar, to perform Pitru Paksha (Moksha) rituals. These included 14 women and 24 men. Following the accident, teams from the Durgawati police and the NHAI department arrived at the scene and began rescue operations. Police took possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination, while the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital. The NHAI team removed the crashed bus with the help of a crane and restored traffic.

Sub-Inspector Ajit Kumar said the accident occurred late Monday night when the bus was traveling from Kashi to Gaya. It was a head-on collision, resulting in severe damage to the front portion of the bus. It is currently unclear whether the accident was caused by speeding, drowsiness, or a technical fault on the road.
