ONE DAY FAST FOR OLD PENSION

ARA---------------------------On the occasion of Teachers' Day, near the Loknayak Jaiprakash Smriti Sthal of the city, a one day fast-cum-dharna was given by the teachers/employees of the district under the banner of National Movement for Old Pension Scheme Bhojpur. The program was presided over by District President Jai Prakash and conducted by District Patron Shri Umesh Kumar Suman. The District President told about the main demands from the government on behalf of NMOPS. The main demands include –1. Withdrawal of NPS and UPS should be given to all teachers and government employees for the benefit of old pension. 2. To complete the same type of curriculum in the same school, different cadres like regular teacher/special teacher/school teacher/employed teacher are prescribed. By integrating all these, a cadre (assistant teacher) should be formed and everyone should be given the benefit of seventh pay scale and full pay scale and service conditions instead of artificial pay scale. 3. Special teachers/school teachers (formerly employed) should be given the benefit of service continuity and the benefit of isotopic index and their pay scale should be determined. 4. All the teachers deprived in the transfer process should be given the benefit of voluntary transfer. Also, Competency-2, TRE-3, Head Teacher/Principal should also be linked with this facility. 5. Provision should be made for cashless medical system and accident insurance for the dependents of teachers and all employees.

On behalf of NMOPS, in support of the old pension and other demands, district in-charge Mr. Vijay Singh Akash, district patron Dr. Neelambuj Saroj, state vice-president Mr. Dharma Kumar Ram, district secretary Sushil Sharma, Mr. Banshidhar Kushwaha, Mr. Shashibhushan Kumar Prasad, Mr. Awadhesh Paswan, district joint secretary Mrs. Pammi Kumari, women cell president Dr. Laxmi Kumari, state president women cell Kumari Alka, Anjani Kumari, Asha Kumari, Laxmi Kumari, Chuni Kumari Chanchala, teacher leader Shailaja Singh and Mrs. Kiran Bharti, Santosh Sawan etc. observed a day-long fast. In support of the fasting colleagues and other demands of teachers and employees including old pension, Chief Guest Honorable MP Sudama Prasad and Teachers' Union, Gopgut District Honorable President, Rajaram Priyadarshi, Block President Jagdishpur, Manish Kumar, Surendra Singh, District Media Incharge, Shri Vikas Kumar Pandey, District Co-Social Media Incharge Shri Kundan Kumar Singh, Block Patron Shri Amiya Bhushan, Comrade Chunni Kumari, Rita Pandey, Pammi Kumari Block President Manoj Kumar, Mantu Kumar, Chandan Kumar, Shivji Ram, Vijay Singh along with hundreds of teachers and employees were present. By giving juice to the fasting colleagues, Honorable MP Comrade Sudama Prasad ended the "Fast-cum-Dharna" program.
