ARA-------------------Angered by the neglect of roads and infrastructure in Bhojpur district, villagers held a peaceful protest under the banner of "No road, no vote," slamming the government and local administration. The protest focused on the dilapidated condition of the road from Jan Sahakari College Mor to the Gadhani sports ground and the beautification of the stadium.
The villagers stated that the condition of this road has been deteriorating for a long time. Potholes and broken sections make daily travel difficult. During the rainy season, the road becomes even more challenging. Schoolchildren, the elderly, and patients face significant difficulties. Villagers say they have repeatedly informed the local MLA and the district administration, both verbally and in writing, but no action has been taken.
The angry villagers declared that they will not cast their votes until the road is repaired and the sports ground is beautified. Their clear message is that development comes before votes.
Protesters say that governments make grand pronouncements about transforming villages, but the situation on the ground remains the same. Central and state governments claim to build roads in rural areas under various schemes, but many villages still lack basic connectivity. The slow pace of road construction and the administration's indifference have shattered public trust.
This peaceful protest by villagers indicates that the public will no longer be satisfied with mere assurances. They have become aware of their basic needs and are clearly stating that neglect of development work will not be tolerated.
This protest not only challenges the local administration and public representatives, but also sends a message that until development reaches the villages, the slogan "No road, no vote" will not stop..
