NEW DIRECTION TO URBANIZATION IN BIHAR

PATNA----------------------------In view of the rapid urbanization and expansion of small markets in Bihar, the state government has planned to form new municipal bodies and upgrade existing bodies. This initiative will increase the number of urban local bodies in the state, ensuring better facilities and administration in urban areas.

The Urban Development and Housing Department has directed all District Magistrates (DMs) to prepare proposals for the formation of new municipal bodies and upgradation of existing bodies. These proposals will be made on the basis of population growth, pace of urbanization and infrastructure needs.

Essential civic amenities like garbage collection, drainage system and water supply will be provided in new and upgraded municipal bodies. This step is being taken to meet the growing demands of the urban population and improve the standard of living.

Small towns and markets in Bihar are rapidly transforming into urban centers. The government has taken this step to organize this change and promote planned development. The formation of new municipal bodies will not only strengthen urban administration but will also boost employment and economic activities at the local level.

In the process of formation and upgradation of municipal bodies, a detailed assessment will be done by the district administration. In this, population, economic activities and urban characteristics will be taken into account.

This step is an important effort towards giving new impetus to the urban development of Bihar, which will ensure better facilities and systematic urban life for the citizens of the state.
