PATNA----------------------The Election Commission is not ready to give the list of 66 lakh people whose names have been removed from the voter list in Bihar. The Commission has told the Supreme Court that according to the election law, it cannot be forced to do this.

It is possible that the Commission cannot be forced to do this legally. But does the Commission not care about its credibility? It is said that justice is being done, but it is not less important that justice is seen to be done. Democracy cannot be imagined without elections. But it is not less important that people's faith in the fairness of the entire voting process remains intact.

The credibility of the current Commission is under serious doubt. The Election Commission is being publicly questioned on the credibility of the electoral process and results. In such a situation, is it not the responsibility of the Commission to publicly answer the questions asked by the opposition before the Supreme Court in order to maintain its credibility?

There is a precedent in the world that those who come to power through elections have destroyed democracy itself. Is the current Election Commission not being played like a puppet in the hands of those people who want to destroy democracy itself! Shivanand
