MUSICIAN KILLED, VILLAGERS BLOCKED ROAD

ARA----------------------------A truck and a pickup collided violently on the Bihiya-Bihta State Highway near Devchand Bal turn in the Piro police station area. A musician riding in the pickup died in the accident. Several other members of the band were also slightly injured. The deceased band member was Vishwanath Ram, 60, son of the late Agnu Rai, a resident of Chhachhudih village in the Agiaon Bazar police station area. He worked as a musician in a DJ band. Following the accident, angry people seized the truck driver and blocked the road with the body, demanding compensation. Traffic on the state highway was disrupted for nearly two hours. Upon receiving information, the station head arrived at the scene with police force and, after pacifying the angry crowd, cleared the blockade. The police subsequently conducted a post-mortem examination of the body. The driver was arrested and the truck seized. Meanwhile, Upendra Paswan, the nephew of the deceased band member, said that he worked as a band member. On Sunday evening, he had gone to play with his band at a wedding ceremony in Dalipur village, under the Dhangai police station area. On Monday morning, they were returning home in a pickup truck when they were hit by an oncoming truck near the Devchand Bal turn. His uncle, who was riding in the pickup, died on the spot. The ravages of speed have once again taken away the joys of a family. A mountain of sorrow has fallen upon the family of the band member who played to bring joy to others. Vishwanath Ram, the deceased, was reportedly the younger of two brothers. His elder brother had already passed away. His family includes his wife Reshma Devi, daughters Usha Devi, Shukula Devi, sons Bhikhar Paswan, and Hridaya Paswan. The accident has left their family in a state of chaos. Reshma Devi, along with all the family members, are inconsolable.
