MOTHER AND SON ARRESTED WITH 87 GRAMS OF HEROIN

ARA-----------------------------Bhojpur police arrested mother and son from Gausganj locality with heroin and cash. About 87 grams of heroin and Rs 12,977 have been recovered from them. Both their mobiles have also been seized. The arrested mother and son include Gausganj locality resident Umesh Mali's wife Pushpa Devi and son Bittu Kumar. Both were arrested near their house in the evening. The police are trying to unravel their network of heroin smuggling through mobile phones.

This information was given by ASP Parichay Kumar in a press conference on Thursday. He said that on Wednesday evening, the station in-charge received information that Gausganj locality resident Umesh Mali's wife and son were buying and selling heroin. On that basis, a team was formed under the leadership of the station in-charge for the recovery of heroin and arrest of the smugglers. After that, the team along with the magistrate and police force reached the house of Umesh Mali, a resident of Gausganj.

On seeing the police, the mother and son started running away. However, both were caught. During the search, 19 packets (9.23 grams) of heroin were recovered from Pushpa Devi. But nothing was found with her son Bittu Kumar. On the basis of interrogation, during the search of their house, about 83.57 grams of heroin, 12 thousand 977 rupees and two mobiles were recovered from two polythene bags. After that both were arrested.

The SP said that the entire network of smuggling of the mother and son is being investigated. Other people involved in this business are being identified. The raiding team included trainee sub-inspector Pramod Kumar Chaudhary, Suraj Singh, Amrit Raj, Sulekha Kumari and Prachi Singh, besides the jawans of Nagar police station and Cross Mobile. In this case, an FIR has been registered against the mother and son under the NDPS Act on the statement of trainee sub-inspector Pramod Kumar Chaudhary.
