ARA----------------------In the light of the instructions given by the Election Commission of India, New Delhi and Chief Electoral Officer, Bihar Patna, for the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly General Election 2025, a program has been scheduled to run a mobile demonstration van for demonstration of EVM/VVPAT in all the polling station buildings (PSL), Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC) etc. of all the seven assembly constituencies under Bhojpur district, namely 192-Sandesh, 193-Badhara, 194-Ara, 195-Agiov, 196-Tarari, 197-Jagdishpur and 198 Shahpur.
Under the said program, the Mobile Demonstration Van (MDV) was flagged off by the District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate, Tanay Sultania, for all the seven assembly constituencies of Bhojpur district today on 18 August. It will be operated in 1287 polling station buildings, Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC) etc. of all the seven assembly constituencies of the district.
This demonstration will be stopped immediately after the Election Commission of India announces the date of election. The main objective of the Mobile Demonstration Van (MDV) is to directly acquaint the general public with the use and functioning of EVM and VVPAT. So that any kind of confusion regarding the voting process is removed and the voters can exercise their franchise with confidence.
A special objective of this initiative is to provide ease in the voting process to the youth, women and senior citizens who are voting for the first time. It has been seen many times that due to lack of knowledge of the technical process, voters feel hesitant at the polling station. Through this van, they will get practical experience in advance, in which they will be able to vote without any hesitation on the polling day.
Trained personnel will be available in this van, who will give live demonstration to the people of the entire process from pressing the EVM button to seeing the VVPAT slip. Apart from this, answers to citizens' questions will also be given on the spot. Information related to voting will also be provided through audio-visual material, posters and banners in the van.
It is known that EPM Demonstration Center is already working in all three subdivisions under the district. Where till now 1585 people have visited and received information about EVM / VVPAT. Out of these, 1585 people have rehearsed voting by casting mock votes.
The Election Commission of India believes that making more and more people aware about the transparent and secure system of EVM and VVPAT is an important step towards increasing the voting percentage and conducting fair elections.
