Armed criminals on a bike shot a student on Tuesday evening near the Dharhara Cement Factory on the Ara-Jamira road, in the city's Town police station area. The injured student was shot in the right shoulder and right thigh, leaving him seriously injured. His family then brought him to a private hospital in Babu Bazar, Ara city, for treatment.
According to information, the injured student is Avinash Kumar, 19, son of Ranjit Rai, a resident of Ward No. 7 of Jamira village, in the Mufussil police station area. He is a BA Part 2 student. The treating surgeon, Dr. Vikash Singh, stated that the bullet struck the student's right shoulder and thigh. The bullet has been removed through surgery and the blood supply has been secured. The patient's condition is currently stable.
However, the reason why the criminals shot him remains unclear. Town Police Station in-charge Shaileshwar Prasad stated that the case appears suspicious. Two friends of the injured youth were brought to the police station for questioning and are being interrogated. The matter will become clearer after the interrogation.
