MEHANDI COMPETITION ORGANIZED IN PIRO SCHOOL

ARA-----------------------------Mehndi competition was organized among the students on the occasion of Haritalika (Teej) fast in Plus Two High School Piro located at Piro subdivision headquarters. Dozens of students of ninth class of the school participated in this competition with full enthusiasm. The students participating in this competition, organized under the supervision of the teachers of the school, applied mehndi on each other's hands in a very artistic way. The names of teachers Ragini Chaudhary and Rinku Kumari were nominated for the jury of this program. Along with the students, school teachers Jaya Kumari, Sabiha Khatoon, Anju Kumari and Preeti Kumari and female non-teaching staff Asha Kumari also applied mehndi on their hands. The enthusiasm of the students was worth seeing during this time. As per the set standard of the program, the jury of the program selected the names of Akriti Kumari, Simran Kumari, Lakshmi Kumari and Meenakshi Kumari for the first, second and third places respectively. Preeti Kumari's art was also greatly appreciated but she missed out on getting a place as she could not complete her work within the stipulated time period of 45 minutes. Acting Head Master of the school, Bhim Rai said that the tradition of applying mehndi has been going on for centuries in our society. It is a part of our culture. Applying mehndi is also an art. In the present times, this art has taken a commercial form. People associated with this art are now also earning their livelihood from it. As such, the importance of this art has increased.
