In the Piro police station area of the district, 28-year-old woman Khushboo Kumari was murdered by her own husband for demanding Rs 30 lakh dowry. The scene after the murder was so horrific that the innocent 4-year-old son of the deceased kept saying again and again – “Papa has killed mummy.” Hearing this from the child, everyone's eyes became moist.
Khushboo Kumari was married to Pawan Kumar in Piro police station area on 12 February 2020 with great pomp. Initially everything was normal, but gradually the husband and in-laws started demanding dowry of Rs 30 lakh. According to Khushboo's parents, she used to call many times and cry saying, “Papa, mummy… if you don't give money, these people will kill me.”
Khushboo's mother Shobha Devi (resident - Chandrapura village, police station Tiloth, district Rohtas) said that her daughter was constantly harassed since her marriage. Khushboo died under suspicious circumstances late on Wednesday night. When the police reached the spot and the post-mortem of the body was done, the doctors suspected poisoning in the initial investigation. At the same time, when the media saw the body, marks of injury and scars were found on the neck and many parts of the body.
The most painful aspect came to the fore when Khushboo's 4-year-old son Pranav kept saying repeatedly - "Papa has killed mummy." Everyone's heart trembled after hearing this from the child. Khushboo has two sons - Pranav Kumar and Anirudh Kumar. It was very touching to see the condition of both the innocent children after the incident.
On the complaint of the deceased's father, an FIR has been registered against the in-laws including husband Pawan Kumar in Piro police station. The family demands that the accused husband be arrested immediately. The police have assured that strict action will be taken soon in view of the seriousness of the matter.
