BUXAR-------------------------Bhojpuri singer and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has claimed that he was attacked by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supporters during his road show in the Dumraon Assembly constituency. Tiwari, who was holding an election rally (road show) in the Dumraon Assembly constituency in Buxar district, expressed deep shock over the incident. He alleged that RJD supporters not only obstructed his convoy but also attempted to place RJD flags on his vehicles and, when he resisted, abused and assaulted him.
Manoj Tiwari stated that his road show was approximately 25 kilometers long and he had dedicated approximately five hours to campaigning for his candidate. He said that at several points during the road show, RJD supporters raised slogans against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while others chanted slogans in support of Lalu Prasad Yadav and the RJD. Tiwari said that he initially ignored these actions, but the situation escalated at Ariaon Brahma Sthan, where approximately 50-60 people, concealing their identities, entered the crowd waiting to welcome him.
According to Tiwari, these people first attacked his vehicle and tried to hoist an RJD flag. When his supporters protested, the attackers began abusing him and shouting slogans against Modi and Nitish Kumar. Referring to the recent incident in Mokama, Tiwari said that to avoid such an unpleasant situation, he instructed his driver to drive quickly. He said that when he left the scene, the attackers chased him for approximately 150 meters, using their flag poles as sticks and trying to attack him.
Manoj Tiwari strongly condemned this incident and called it a wrong way to contest elections. He appealed to the Election Commission, the administration, and the leaders of the Grand Alliance to pay attention to such incidents. He said, "Just because someone's road show has a large crowd doesn't mean you should go and disturb them. You can hold a road show, you can draw a larger crowd than us, you can hold street corner meetings, you can hold rallies, but disturbing someone else's rally, putting your flag on someone else's vehicle, and beating, abusing, and chasing them if they resist is a blatant crime."
Manoj Tiwari said that he has spoken to the Superintendent of Police (SP) regarding this incident and has also sent a formal complaint to the Election Commission. He urged the administration to take strict action in this matter to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
