MAHANT MURDERED IN MONEY DISPUTE

SASARAM--------------------------Mahant of Vijay Raghav Ashram located in Gandhinagar of Dehri police station area has been murdered. The deceased has been identified as Shyam Narayan Swami. At the same time, Mahant's associate and ashram priest Subhash Swami has been accused of his murder. The accused has absconded after the incident.

According to the information, on Thursday morning, there was a dispute between Mahant and Subhash Pujari over money transaction and not giving leave from the ashram. In this dispute, Subhash attacked Mahant with some heavy object. His condition deteriorated due to serious head injury.

People admitted the injured Mahant to Jamuhar Medical College for treatment. But he died during treatment. Police reached the spot and are investigating the matter.

Vijay Raghav Swami's ashram is next to Tridandi Swami Ashram. Mahant was in his room at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, Subhash Pujari, who returned from leave, entered his room. There was an altercation between the two over something. Meanwhile, the accused attacked the Mahant with a wooden stick and brick and fled.

The dispute started when the priest returned from leave. It is said that the accused Subhash was living in the ashram for the last two months. He had also taken an advance of 25 thousand rupees from the Mahant for his wages. After this he went on leave. Today suddenly after returning from leave, both of them had a fight over the old dispute.

Dehri ASP Atulesh Jha said that other people present in the ashram are being thoroughly interrogated. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
