ARA---------------------------The Supreme Court of New Delhi, in its order in the case of Association for Democratic Reforms and Others vs. Election Commission of India (W.P. (C) No. 640/2025), has issued specific instructions mandating that free legal aid be provided to individuals excluded from the final electoral rolls to assist them in filing appeals within the prescribed period. To assist this purpose, paralegal volunteers have been deputed at the block level, and a help desk has been established at the District Legal Services Authority, Civil Court Complex, Ara, with two panel lawyers. Individuals wishing to file appeals can seek assistance from the paralegal volunteers deputed at their block level or directly contact the panel lawyers deputed at the District Legal Services Authority's help desk for legal assistance. Gautam Kumar, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Bhojpur, said that a team of para legal volunteers has been formed at the block level in all the 14 blocks of the district, who will go from village to village, identify the persons left out of the voter list and provide them legal help to file an appeal before the District Election Officer with the help of the panel advocate deputed at the help desk.
