PATNA-------------------------In January 1883, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan visited Patna and inspired the community with his call for modern scientific education alongside religious values.
Responding to his vision, the Mohammadan Education Committee of Patna established the Mohammadan Anglo-Arabic School in March 1884, just nine years after the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental School at Aligarh (1875).
Today, the institution continues as the Mohammadan Anglo-Arabic Senior Secondary School, Patna City — a living testimony to Sir Syed’s mission and Patna’s contribution to the Aligarh Movement. “Sir Syed sowed the seed at Aligarh; Patna nurtured it into a flourishing tree of knowledge in eastern India .”
