BUXAR----------------------------On Tuesday, around 3 PM, the Excise Department team made a major breakthrough in liquor smuggling at the Veer Kunwar Singh Ganga Bridge checkpoint. During the operation led by Excise Inspector Kundan Kumar, a large quantity of foreign liquor was recovered from a white Swift Dzire car (registration number JH 01 AE-6582). The smugglers had tried to hide the liquor by creating a special compartment inside the car.

The accused arrested from the spot has been identified as Pankaj Kumar Rai (32 years old), son of Hari Ram Rai, a resident of Gundi village under Krishnabrahm police station area of ​​the district. The Excise Department has taken the accused into custody and initiated further legal proceedings, and preparations are being made to send him to jail.

According to the Excise Department, the recovered liquor includes 440 pieces of 8 PM whisky (180 ml each), totaling 79.200 liters, and 370 pieces of 'After Dark' whisky (180 ml each), totaling 66.600 liters. Thus, a total of 145.800 liters of liquor was recovered.

The Excise Department stated that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in the case under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, and further investigation is underway. The search for other people involved in the smuggling network has also been intensified.
