ARA-----------------------The hassle of managing land and property documents and searching for old records in Bihar is about to end forever. The Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department has launched a revolutionary initiative under which all registered documents from 1908 to the present are being digitized. Over 5 Crore Documents, Target by March 2026
Now you won't have to sift through dusty records at the registration office for old documents.
Scale: The department is scanning and uploading over 5.59 crore documents to the website.
Progress: PDFs of approximately 1.52 crore documents from 1908 to 1989 have already been prepared. Work on documents from 1990 to 1995 is also progressing rapidly.
Deadline: The government aims to have all old documents online by March 31, 2026.
Fraud Will Be Curtailed, Download Documents from Home. This system will curb fraud in land transactions.
Transparency: Now, anyone can view and download the history and documents of their own or any other property from the comfort of their home.
Reduced Disputes: Online access to documents will also reduce land disputes and court cases.
