PATNA--------------------------Following the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)'s crushing defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, opposition parties have intensified their attacks. Leaders in power are taunting RJD's future and comparing it to dinosaurs that have become extinct on Earth.

Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) patron Jitan Ram Manjhi has made a major statement on social media, taking a dig at RJD. He bluntly stated that what happened to dinosaurs on Earth will be the same fate for RJD in Bihar in the future.

Manjhi posted on social media, "Whatever happened to dinosaurs on Earth, the same fate will befall RJD in Bihar in the future. Now everyone has started saying... 'Dinosaurs can return to Earth, but RJD people cannot return to Bihar.'"

Through this statement, he made it clear that after the NDA's landslide victory, he believes it is now impossible for the RJD to return to power.

The RJD was reduced to just 25 seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. The party contested a maximum of 143 seats, but suffered a major disappointment. This defeat has raised many questions about the RJD's future. The party is also on the verge of losing its presence in the Rajya Sabha, as the terms of its five Rajya Sabha MPs are ending in the next four years.

What is the meaning of the dinosaur comparison?

This comparison points to the RJD's political "extinction." Opposition parties believe that the mandate has rejected the "selfish nature" of the Lalu family and his party. The ruling party claims that the pace of development in Bihar under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will make the RJD's dream of returning to power impossible.
