DELHI----------------------------The population of Muslims is growing the fastest in the world. This has been revealed in a study by the Pew Research Center. According to this, between 2010-2020, the Muslim population in the world has increased by 34.7 crores to 194.6 crores. Talking about Hindus, there has been an increase in the Hindu population in the last 10 years. However, the global share of Hindus has remained stable at the rate of 15 percent, it has neither increased nor decreased. Research has found that according to this rate, the population of Hindus has increased by 12.6 crores to 115.8 crores between 2010-2020.

A new report released on the religious population in the world has revealed shocking information. This report of the Pew Research Center analyzes religious population data from 2010 to 2020, which shows that the global religious landscape has changed rapidly during this period. During a decade, the Muslim population has grown the fastest compared to any religion. Now the followers of Islam make up a quarter of the world's total population. This report also provides information about Hindu, Christian and Buddhist populations.

The Pew Research Center report states that between 2010 and 2020, the Muslim population was relatively the fastest growing population, making up 25.6 percent of the world's population. In 2010, it was 23.9 percent. The Muslim population has grown by 346 million. Although Christians are still the largest population, their share in the total world population has decreased. Now it is 25.6 percent of the total world population, which shows a decline of 1.5 percent. The Christian (all faiths) population grew by 121.6 million during 2010-20.

A separate Pew report shows that the number of people leaving Christianity during this decade has increased much more than those joining. The report states that the population of Hindus remained more or less stable at 14.9 percent, while Buddhism has seen a decline of 0.8 percent, which is the highest after Christianity. Buddhism is the only religion whose number of followers has decreased in 2020 compared to 2010. It has seen a decline of 18 million.

The most interesting aspect in the report is the rapidly increasing number of people who do not associate themselves with any religion. The number of people who do not believe in any religion has increased by 27 crores. It is now 24.2 percent of the world's population. During this period, the population of the Jewish population also remained stable, which is 0.2 percent of the total population. There was an increase of 10 lakh in the Jewish population, which has now reached 1.48 crores.

Details of other religions are also present in Pew's research.
