Police in Geedha, Bhojpur, have achieved a major breakthrough in the seizure of heroin-related narcotics. In a joint operation by the Patna Special Task Force (STF) and the Geedha police station, police arrested four smugglers in a car with approximately three kilograms of heroin. All four were arrested on Thursday near the Geedha underpass.
Five mobile phones, ten ATM cards from various banks, four registration cards, one personal identity card, two PAN cards, and ₹2,400 in cash were also recovered from the smugglers. The arrested smugglers include Rahul Singh, a resident of Deoria village in the Babura police station area; Abhishek Pandit, a resident of Ranisagar village in the Shahpur police station area, who lives in Maulabagh under the Ara Nagar police station area; Arun Kumar, a resident of Chhoti Sasaram village in the Udwantnagar police station area; and Vishal Kumar, a resident of Balua village in the Krishnagarh police station area.
Vishal Kumar is said to be the driver. The car, registered in Patna, has been seized. Rahul Singh is said to be the main smuggler. All of them are believed to have connections to interstate heroin smugglers. Police are investigating their entire network and conducting raids to arrest other smugglers in the gang.
Bhojpur SP Raj stated that on Thursday, the Special Task Force (STF) received information that a large consignment of drugs was being transported by car via Kayamnagar towards Geedha. Based on this information, a joint team from the STF and Geedha police station stopped a car coming from Kayamnagar near the Geedha underpass.
During the search, 3,075 grams of heroin was recovered from the car. The four occupants were subsequently arrested. A case has been registered against all four under the NDPS Act. Station House Officer Tinku Kumar and other police personnel from Geedha police station were involved in the raid.
Following the seizure of a large quantity of heroin in Geedha, the police are investigating the smugglers' network. Police investigations and interrogation of the arrested smugglers have revealed a connection to Rajasthan. According to police sources, heroin is smuggled from Rajasthan via Madhya Pradesh by car.
After being brought to Deoria village in the Babura police station area of Bhojpur, heroin is then supplied to various locations in the district. According to the police, the heroin consignment was to be delivered to the home of Rahul Singh, a resident of Deoria village. Therefore, the police are investigating the connections of Rahul Singh and other smugglers. For this, their mobile phones are being examined. The arrested smugglers are being interrogated to gather information about other people involved in the trade.
