ARA---------------------------The series of rains continues in Bihar. Due to which the water level of other rivers including Ganga is increasing. In this sequence, three blocks are affected due to the rising water level of Ganga in Bhojpur district. The situation is such that the fields, barns and roads are completely submerged. About 10 thousand people are under house arrest in the village. Due to which it has become difficult for them to get out in any emergency. In such a situation, ETV Bharat reached the spot and took stock of the situation and talked to the local people, which they will hardly forget.
These villages affected by flood: The most affected by the flood is Jawainiya village of Shahpur, where hundreds of houses have been submerged in the Ganga. On the other hand, Neknam Tola, Khawaspur, Mahudai, Farhada, Ekvana and Karja villages of Badhara block are facing the tragedy of flood. This is the second time in two weeks this year, when the water level of Ganga has increased.
Roads submerged: Local people said that the village has been completely cut off from the district and block headquarters. All the four roads leading to the village are filled with water ranging from two to eight feet. They said that the road leading to the village through the NH has also been submerged, while the roads leading to the dam and school through Kayamnagar are filled with five to three feet of water.
The water of the Ganga river has reached Kayamnagar and Gyanpur by moving southwards through Keshopur. Usually the water of the Kusmhi river flowing in the east and the Gangi river in the west is absorbed in the Ganga, but this time due to the high water level of the Ganga, its water has filled these tributary rivers and reached the village.'' - Hareram Rai, and Pintu, villagers
Fodder crisis for animals: The biggest blow of the flood has fallen on farmers and cattle rearers. Most of the fields and wastelands are submerged. Due to which the crops grown in more than hundreds of acres have completely drowned. Hundreds of acres of vegetable crops planted in the lower areas of the village have also been destroyed. People have to cross the river to bring fodder from far-flung areas for their animals.
"Two government boats have been arranged from Wednesday for the movement of people in the flood-hit Gyanpur village. After the water level decreases, cleaning will be done by sprinkling bleaching powder and the administration is ready to provide all possible help". - Priyanka Kumari, - Koilwar Circle Officer
Flood-like conditions in these districts too: Let us tell you that due to heavy rains, flood-like conditions have arisen in Patna and Buxar districts too. There too, the Ganga is flowing above the danger mark. A few days ago, the water level of the Ganga in Buxar district had reached 28.77 cm above the danger mark. Due to which flood water had entered dozens of villages. Also, the villages lost contact with the main road.
