RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

BHABHUA----------------------------The administration has adopted a tough stance to make the district free from crop residue (stubble) burning. In an inter-departmental working group meeting chaired by the District Magistrate on Thursday, clear instructions were given that those who burn crop residue will be fined and prosecuted under Section 152 of the BNSS.

In the meeting, the DM directed that no combine harvester will operate in the district without a Straw Management System (SMS). If any harvester is found without an SMS, it will be completely banned.

Availability of equipment: Agricultural implements such as happy seeders, rotavators, and balers will be made available in the panchayats so that farmers can cultivate scientifically. The agriculture department will conduct awareness campaigns in villages and educate farmers. The administration will honor farmers who have not burned stubble for the past three years and will make them role models. The District Magistrate said that burning stubble is harmful to both the environment and soil health. Preventing it is our collective responsibility.
