FARMERS ENRAGED AFTER GETTING 8KG OF SEEDS INSTEAD OF 16KG

ARA----------------------------The Agriculture Department is to provide 16 kg of seeds to farmers for the Rabi crop. For this purpose, the department has provided wheat, gram, peas, and lentil seeds to the block agriculture office. The responsibility for distributing the seeds to farmers has been assigned to the block agriculture officer and agriculture coordinator. Seed distribution is to be carried out under the supervision of these officials. Farmers who visited the Piro block agriculture office to purchase seeds reported that departmental personnel were providing them with only 8 kg of seeds instead of 16 kg. Neither the agriculture coordinator nor the block agriculture officer were present to address their complaints. Accusing the seed distribution staff of arbitrariness, the farmers created a ruckus at the block agriculture office for a long time, but no one attended to their complaints. Farmers like Dhananjay Kumar of Sukhrauli, Surendra Singh of Nonar, Ajay Rai of Devchanda, Radhakrishna Tiwari and Pankaj Tiwari of Amehta, Santosh Kumar of Chhavarhi, Rajkumar Kamlesh Kumar, Lalsa Devi, Usha Devi, Chandan Singh of Katariya, etc. have threatened to protest, calling this an encroachment on their rights. Meanwhile, Shriram Singh, head of Baraon Panchayat, has demanded the District Agriculture Officer investigate the matter and take necessary action.
