Big news is from the capital Patna where the Economic Offenses Unit team has raided the hideouts of Vinod Kumar Rai in Bhootnath Road located in the police station area of ​​​​Patna. During this, bundles of notes worth lakhs of rupees have been seized from the chimney in the kitchen.

The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) team raided the Patna residence of Vinod Kumar Rai, Superintendent Engineer working in the Rural Works Department, where they found about Rs 40 lakh in cash, burnt notes worth Rs 20 lakh, jewelry worth Rs 10 lakh and watches worth Rs 6 lakh. Land documents worth crores of rupees and more than 12 bank accounts have also been found in the raid. The action started at 5:20 am, when the EOU team forcibly entered the house after being stopped for several hours by Vinod Rai's wife.

During the raid, Vinod Kumar Rai's wife burnt notes worth lakhs of rupees to escape from the EOU team, which also clogged the drains of the house. EOU officials have called the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) team to examine the burnt notes. Apart from this, the Municipal Corporation team also reached the spot and is helping in removing the burnt notes by cleaning the drain.

The EOU team waited outside Vinod Kumar Rai's house all night as his wife prevented the team from entering. The team forcibly entered the house at 5:20 am. Officials said that they were shocked to see the scene inside the house, as a large amount of cash and other valuables were scattered in the house.

This raid is part of EOU's ongoing major action against corruption. The discovery of such a huge amount of illegal property from the house of a high-ranking officer like Vinod Kumar Rai shows the corruption prevailing in government departments. EOU is investigating the matter further and Vinod Kumar Rai is being questioned.

Municipal Corporation team has also been called to clean the drain clogged with burnt notes. The team is working to remove burnt notes from the drain so that the evidence can be kept safe. This incident shows how officials involved in corruption can go to any extent to hide their black money.
