BUXAR--------------------------The court of Additional Sessions Judge II Manish Kumar Shukla has sentenced four accused, including District Council member representative Rinku Yadav, to life imprisonment after finding them guilty in a nearly nine-year-old murder case. The court handed down the sentence under sections related to murder, conspiracy, Arms Act, and causing grievous hurt. It also stated that the case does not fall under the 'rarest of rare' category, hence leniency was shown in the sentencing.

The court sentenced the accused Rinku Yadav, Ajay Kumar Pandey, Chaturi Bhar, and Jairam Paswan to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 1 lakh each under Section 302, 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 50,000 under Section 326, and four years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 50,000 under Section 27 of the Arms Act. All sentences will run concurrently. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional six months of simple imprisonment.

The court directed that the period of imprisonment served during the trial be adjusted against the total sentence under Section 428 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. According to the records, Rinku Yadav spent 3 months, Ajay Pandey 3 months and 19 days, Chaturi Bhar 1 year 1 month and 11 days, and Jairam Paswan 4 months and 11 days in jail.

This case is related to Buxar Nagar Police Station Case No. 382/2016. In 2016, a person was shot dead in a dispute related to land dealings. The case was registered based on the statement of the deceased's wife, Indu Singh, which mentioned tension over monetary transactions and repayment of money. Based on the police investigation and witness statements, a charge sheet was filed, and the case remained under trial in the sessions court.

During the trial, based on the testimony of ten prosecution witnesses, the court found all the charges proven and convicted all four accused. The court has also recommended that the victim, Indu Singh, and her children be given compensation. A copy of the order has been sent to the District Legal Services Authority. Following the verdict, discussions about the case have intensified in the area.
