ARA---------------------------RJD leader and former MLA from Jagdishpur, Bhai Dinesh, has expressed serious concern over the healthcare system in Bhojpur district. He said that more than 50 crore rupees are being spent every month from taxpayers' money on sub-health centers, primary health centers, additional health centers, government health centers, subdivisional hospitals, and the district hospital, but despite this, ordinary people are not receiving satisfactory and quality treatment. This situation is not only unfortunate but also raises a big question mark over the entire healthcare system.
Bhai Dinesh alleged that some doctors posted in government hospitals are referring patients to private hospitals and clinics for treatment. Calling this a grave injustice to the public, he questioned how doctors can engage in private practice when they are receiving government salaries. He asked why the district administration and the state government are remaining silent on this serious issue despite such massive expenditure.
The former MLA specifically mentioned the Ara Sadar Hospital, stating that there are continuous complaints of doctors referring patients to private clinics. He said that this matter must be brought to the attention of the District Magistrate of Bhojpur and the Civil Surgeon, as these officials are responsible for monitoring and improving the district's healthcare system. He demanded a high-level inquiry into the entire matter and swift action against the guilty doctors.
He further stated that due to the shortage of doctors, mismanagement, and weak administration in the district's government hospitals, patients are facing immense difficulties. Often, patients do not receive timely treatment, which further worsens their condition. In such circumstances, the Health Department and the district administration need to take concrete steps on the ground instead of merely engaging in paperwork.
Bhai Dinesh questioned whether running private clinics by doctors appointed in government hospitals is a clear violation of government rules. He asked whether the government will take strict action against such doctors who, despite receiving government salaries, are charging exorbitant fees in the name of private clinics and exploiting patients in the name of tests and medicines. He also stated that a large number of people in Bihar still live below the poverty line. These poor families are unable to receive timely and proper medical treatment, and often lose their lives due to lack of treatment. Despite this, unauthorized clinics are operating in villages, where people's lives are being endangered by the administration of medicines and injections without proper diagnosis, while the government and administration remain indifferent.
Finally, Bhai Dinesh said that if this is what is considered good governance, then it is extremely unfortunate. He reiterated his demand to the district administration and the health department to intervene immediately, improve the conditions of government hospitals, take action against the guilty doctors, and ensure that the common people receive their right to better and accessible healthcare.
