BUXAR-------------------------A controversy erupted over protocol during a meeting held at the Dumraon Municipal Council office on Tuesday. Deputy Chief Councillor Vikas Thakur boycotted the meeting, walking out and raising serious questions about the proceedings.

During the meeting held at the Dumraon Municipal Council office on Tuesday, a dispute arose over protocol. According to sources, people accompanying local MLA Rahul Kumar Singh had occupied the front row seats in the meeting hall.

It is alleged that according to protocol, the Deputy Chief Councillor should have been given a seat in the front row, but he was made to sit on a plastic chair at the side of the hall. Angered by this, he refused to participate in the meeting. The Deputy Chief Councillor said that he had not even been informed about the meeting beforehand. He arrived at the office as usual in the morning, only to find that the MLA's supporters had been given prominent seats in the meeting hall, while the elected representatives were seated at the back.

He termed this a disregard for democratic principles and social justice. Following the incident, the atmosphere in the municipal council premises became tense. Anger was observed among local people and public representatives regarding this issue. Officials have not given any official reaction on the matter, while the Deputy Chief Councillor has said that he will continue to raise his voice on the issue, demanding respect for protocol.
